According to the Hon. Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, the development of the Guzape II District would improve Abuja’s aesthetics. In addition to enabling development, they also give Nigerians numerous direct and indirect job opportunities.
He said this while giving a tour of the district’s engineering infrastructure projects over the weekend. To evaluate the work’s progress and any challenges. Remarks on the development of the Guzape II District
He said, “We believe this project will improve the attractiveness of the city. And as you can see, construction has already begun throughout the entire corridor where you (Gilmor Engineering (Nig) Ltd) have started working. I’m aware that this will be a stunning area. And after spending time touring the projects, we have seen the amount of work that has been done. As well as some of the difficulties.”
The contractor was reassured by the minister that steps would be taken to address the problems. Which included encroachment along the road corridor.
He said, “There will always be obstacles in any effort. However, it is up to us to examine the problems and find solutions as partners. I am aware of the difficulties you are experiencing with the road corridor. Particularly with the encroachments, and I pledge to work with my staff to find a solution.”
Furthermore, the Minister indicated that several evaluations were being considered despite the project’s financial and financial concerns. He also informed the contractor that as a participant in the development of the FCT, they will be favorably remembered when the history of the growth of the FCT is recorded. While giving details on the project, the Executive Secretary of the Autoridade Federal de Desenvolvimento de Capital (FCDA), Engr. Shehu Hadi Ahmad said that Guzape II, when finished, could be compared to Manhattan in New York, USA, and Jumeirah in Dubai could compete with any specially built area in any part of the world’s best cities.
The Executive Secretary stated that the development of Guzape II District will help improve Abuja’s tourism industry. Because all faults made in the creation of earlier districts in the FCT have been remedied.
