Mohamed Fettah, the governor of the province of Khenifra, recently launched the first phase of a project to rehabilitate the drinking water network in Khénifra in a bid to improve the conditions of access of the inhabitants of the commune of El Kbab to drinking water, following low rainfall, increased demand for drinking water, urban expansion, and degradation of distribution network infrastructure.
Financiado pelo Directorate General of Local Authorities, the project, the cost of which is slightly over half a million USD entails the construction of approximately 20 kilometers of pipes of different sizes and the connection of 2,000 families or its thereabouts to the drinking water network.

Overview of the rehabilitation project of drinking water network in Khénifra
The rehabilitation project of the drinking water network in Khénifra as a whole is being carried out within the framework of an agreement signed between the Ministry of the Interior (General Directorate of Territorial Collectivities), the Council of the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region, the Provincial Council of Khénifra, Office National de l’Electricité et de l’Eau Potable (ONEE), and El Hammam, El Kbab, Ouaoumana, Al-Borj, and Aït Aït Saadelli municipalities.
The project, which includes the construction of 226 km of drinking water supply pipes, the connection of approximately 3,650 individuals to the drinking water network, the installation of 52 standpipes, and the construction and equipment of reservoirs and pumping stations, requires a total investment of close to US$ 10M.
Upon completion, it will make it possible to supply drinking water to the Centers of El Kbab and Al-Borj as well as 52 Douars of the communes El Kbab, El Hammam, Aït Ishaq, Ouaoumana, and Ait Saadelli.
