The Dilokong Hospital’s Thuthuzela Care Centre in Limpopo, is part of Glencore’s ongoing commitment to create a lasting effect and collaborate to improve their operating regions. Companies and other members of society have been requested to help Thuthuzela Care Centres avoid violence against women and children, according to the government, Glencore Ferroalloys has reacted to the situation.

TCCs are one-stop shops that have been implemented as a crucial component of South Africa’s anti-rape campaign, to prevent secondary victimisation and establish a case that can be prosecuted successfully.
Glencore Ferroalloys, Em colaboração com o National Prosecution Authority (NPA), the Departamento de Saúde, National Prosecution Authority of Sexual Offenses and Corporate Affairs unit, Bem como o Department of Social Development and the South African Police Services, added one more to the list on October 8, 2021, after hosting a sod-turning event to mark the start of construction.
The event was held in the Dilokong Hospital in Gowe Village, which is part of the Fetakgomo Tubatse Municipality and will house the new centre.
The Dilokong Hospital serves 166 villages with a total population of 335 676 people, making it an excellent site for the new centre since it ensures that enough people in the neighbourhood will have access to it and receive the treatment they need.
Cllr RL Mamekoa, Mayor of the Fetakgomo Tubatse Municipality, representatives from Thuthuzela, officials from the Department of Health, Social Development, the NPA, members of the SAPS, and local community leaders were all present to witness the beginning of the construction of this important institution.
The Dilokong Hospital Thuthuzela Care Centre, which Glencore developed, will formally open in October and is expected to be finished in the first quarter of 2022 when it will be up and operating and ready to serve the community.
This initiative reflects Glencore’s ongoing commitment to have a long-term impact and collaborate to effect change in the communities where they operate.
This is to ensure that they continue to run effectively and with all the required resources needed to adequately support victims. Glencore has rebuilt existing Thuthuzela Care Centres in Witbank/Emalahleni, Brits, and Rustenburg in addition to the new facility.
