Safety industry professionals selected electrical contractor Rosendin as one of the safest companies in the country. On November 10, EHS Today magazine presented Rosendin with the 2021 America’s Safest Companies Award for its dedication and innovation in protecting its 7,000+ employees who design and build data centers, educational facilities, renewable energy plants, and other high profile projects.

The judging panel of safety experts selected Rosendin as the large company winner from a highly competitive field based on a comprehensive analysis of safety protocols, training programs, injury rates, and innovation. Rosendin’s safety program stood out for its low incident rates and empowering employees to take safety into their own hands. Company programs include the STOP Work Card gives employees the right to stop working if they feel unsafe, and the Craft Empowerment Program that unites field workers and project managers twice a month to review concerns and new ideas.

“We are honored and humbled to be recognized for our safety program because prioritizing the safety of our employees and finding innovative ways to protect them are among Rosendin’s core values,” said Marty Rouse, Vice President of Safety. “Our strengths are in the quality of our safety programs, consistency of training, and a strong culture that not only empowers employees to keep themselves and each other safe, while also encouraging feedback so we can keep improving.”

Rosendin’s commitment to its employees encompasses physical safety programs, as well as those aimed at supporting mental health and providing a welcoming work environment for all. Rosendin has a Zero Tolerance policy and strives to protect every employee from harassment, hazing, and bullying. Rosendin’s Culture of Care extends to supporting racial justice efforts through awareness campaigns and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), including We LEAD (women’s group), PRIDE and Proud (LGBTQ++), and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color).

“As an employee-owned company we truly believe that our employees are our highest priority so we are responsible for identifying and preventing harm of any kind so everyone can feel proud to do their best work and return home safely to their families each night,” said Mike Greenawalt, Rosendin CEO.

As one of the largest electrical contractors in the country, Rosendin employs over 7,000 people at 17 offices who design and build large-scale electrical projects. The 102-year-old company specializes in renewable energy facilities, data centers, transportation lines, stadiums, educational and medical facilities, housing, hospitality, and other commercial and industrial projects that shape city skylines and support infrastructure.

In the last two years, the electrical contractor’s safety record has been recognized over 30 times by regional and national organizations including the National Electrical Contractors Association, Associated General Contractors of America, and National Association of Women in Construction.
